Kid's Programs:

Picture Book Story time   11:15 am to 11:45 am every Tuesday & Wednesday fall, winter, spring... and just on Wednesday 11:15 am in the summer.

Our Storytime is very easygoing - we have kids of all ages, parents, and we welcome babies.  We read picture book stories, sing songs, do finger rhymes, and enjoy simple crafts.  Free!

"Catch the Reading Bug" Summer Reading Program on Tuesdays at 10 am June 10-July 15. Learn all about insects, play games, read books!

Special Children's Programs occur after school and in the evening.  Check our website for updates.
Richfield Library runs a Reading Marathon to celebrate Children's Book Week each year in November.

Library Cards for Children: Parents must come with children to sign them up for library cards.  Please bring 1) a picture id with a current address, or 2) a picture id with an old address, and another proof of current address (a check, a fishing license, a piece of mail, a rental agreement, a utility bill etc.)  Parents will be asked to fill out a form with necessary information, and then the child can be given a library card.  Replacement cards cost $2.00 each.

All children who attend or are eligible to attend Richfield schools, preschools or daycares are eligible for a
FREE LIBRARY CARD, regardless of whether they live within the Richfield city limits.
Children who attend schools outside Richfield, and live outside Richfield, must pay $10 per year for a card.

Computers:  Children can use computers at the library if their parents have signed an internet agreement for each child.  The library has a computer for CD games (many of which are reading related.)  We also have 3 computers which have the internet, email, word processing, spreadsheets, Microsoft Publisher etc.  The computers are filtered, and pornography is forbidden.  If computer users misuse the computers, their computer privileges can be revoked by the director or the librarian on duty.

Book Recommendations:  The library encourages children and parents to recommend books that should be considered for purchase!

Books and Other Materials circulate for 2 weeks; 12 materials can be checked out at one time on one card.  Fines are 10 cents per day.   Books and other materials can be renewed by phone if they are not yet due, and no one else has them on reserve.
