Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions we hear at the Richfield Public Library.

Place Materials on Hold

Patrons can place a hold or reserve a book in the Richfield collection which is currently checked out. We have no way of knowing that a book is on hold if it is on the shelf.

To do so, come to the library, or call 896-5169, or log on to the account online (Your Patron ID is the number on the back of your library card beneath the bar code. Type in the whole number without any spaces.)

Richfield Library will call the patron when the material becomes available, and we will hold the book for 3 days.

Suggest an item be purchased by the Library

The library encourages children and parents to recommend books that should be considered for purchase! Patrons are welcome to come in and fill out a Suggestions Form and drop in the suggestions box at the circulation desk, or complete this form: Library Purchase Suggestion.

Request a Book from a different Library in Sevier County

Also called an "Inter-library Loan", patrons can request up to 3 books per month to be loaned by other libraries in Sevier County.

It normally takes at least 3-6 weeks to receive materials, and there is a charge of $1 for this service.

Inter-library Loans can be made at the circulation desk or online by filling out this form: Inter-library Request

Circulation Time

Materials (books, movies, audios) all circulate for 3 weeks. They can be renewed for an additional 3 weeks by phone, in person, or online before they are due, provided no other patron has reserved them, and if they are not new books.

Fines

Overdue books, movies, audios, etc. will be charged 10 cents per day.

Pay Fines

Fines and fees may be paid at the Circulation Desk with cash or check. Debit and Credit Cards can be used to pay fines if taken to the Richfield City offices (located next to the library). You will need to know the exact amount you need to pay. Please bring your receipt to the library afer your transaction is complete.
